Feminists, listen up! By now, it’s no eye-opener how black women are portrayed on reality tv. We’ve all seen our share of uncut, raw ratchedness sadly surrounding women of color. Asha’s and my friendship stemmed from a simple Instagram DM, and I have yet to encounter someone who unapologetically speaks and acts on the portrayal of black women in media the way this girl does. The first word that comes to mind when describing Asha is passionate, and that passion led her to create The Dinner Table Doc – once an Essence film project that has now evolved into a business with a powerful message.
